Close to the village of Svit you can find a series of gravel pits near Batizovce. The lakes are mainly used by anglers and attract a lot of birds. The Batizovské gravel pits also offer great views of the Tatras and the Podtatranska basin. Among the birds you can encounter are Малый подорлик, Скопа, Хохотунья, Чирок-свистунок, Чирок-трескунок, Обыкновенная овсянка, Тростниковая овсянка, Европейский вьюрок, Горная трясогузка, Черноголовый чекан and Славка-мельничек.

Access
The area is located 10 km west of the city of Poprad. You can get to the gravel pits by car and explore the area on foot. Note: Some gravel pits are still actively in use and not accessible.
