Mala Vrbica wetland is located east of the town of Kladovo, 65 km from the Donji Milanovac and 255 km from Belgrade.
The fish farm is not operational, hence the entrance is free, without the need to ask for permission. Mala Vrbica wetland is what remained of the former floodplain of the Danube. Part of the area was turned into agricultural land (fields, vineyards, orchards, pastures), part remained under ponds, wet meadows and reeds, and a quarter become a carp pond (c. 200 ha). Osojna hill (156 m) has numerous loess cliffs and a section under bushes and dry pastures. Beside the lakes, pay attention to the surrounding pasture, loess cliffs and shrub vegetation (in winter, check the river Danube, too).
The local bird list is some 120 species long and includes Малый баклан, Кваква, Жёлтая цапля, Рыжая цапля, Волчок, Чёрный аист, Колпица, Чирок-трескунок, Белоглазый нырок, Болотный лунь, Белощекая крачка and Чёрная крачка, Обыкновенная горлица, Домовый сыч, Обыкновенный козодой, Золотистая щурка, possibly Сизоворонка, Удод, Полевой конёк, Береговушка, Каменка, Обыкновенный ремез, Обыкновенный жулан and Чернолобый сорокопут, Черногрудый воробей and Садовая овсянка.
