Description
Albufeira do Azibo is the most important wetland in the northeast of Portugal. A nesting site for Чомга, a symbol of the protected landscape, and Морской зуёк. Wintering site for different species, such as Кряква, Серая утка, Свиязь, Большой баклан, Серая цапля, Перевозчик, and many other species. A stopover site for various herons and shorebirds during spring and autumn migration. In the forest surroundings of the reservoir, there are several birds of prey, such as the Канюк, Орёл-карлик, Чёрный коршун or Обыкновенный осоед as well as several passerines such as Иберийская пеночка, Обыкновенный поползень or Красноголовый королёк.

Access
Albufeira do Azibo is located in the northeastern corner of Portugal, near the town of Macedo de Cavaleiros. In the Azibo reservoir there are several river beaches with access from the A4, with parking (access to some beaches is paid). Press a P on the map for directions to a parking. From the beaches or from the village of Santa Combinha there are trails with access to different locations and bird observatories. The circular route around the entire reservoir has a total length of 25 km.
