Reservoir that is good for seeing water birds and in winter very good for observing different species of gulls up close.
The Witoszówka reservoir in Świdnica is a recreational place for Świdnica residents and a reserve for anglers. Although the shore is regulated without trees and reeds it is home to hundreds of birds. In winter this is a great place to observe gulls from a short distance (the reservoir is max. 300 m long, the piers are located in its south-western part). During winter migration, there are Сизая чайка, Озерная чайка, Хохотунья and Серебристая чайка. Often Морская чайка, Клуша and Черноголовая чайка. Occasionally Моевка. Other birds you can see are Красноголовый нырок, Чирок-трескунок, Лебедь-шипун, Огарь and Большой крохаль.
Easy to reach from Świdnica. Big parking place available. You can make a circular walk around the reservoir (1,5 km).
