Description
The old Evangelical cemetery in Recz is now a kind of wild, little-used park / forest covered with old trees. Like most places of this type in the western areas of present-day Poland, the cemetery was destroyed and forgotten. Here and there, among the trees and bushes, you can still see the remains of tombs. In the late 1980s, the local communist authorities tried to build a city park on the site of the destroyed cemetery. Fortunately, the inhabitants did not accept this idea. In the spring, the old cemetery is a perfect shelter for a large number of songbirds. You can also observe water birds in the nearby ponds.

Polski : Stary cmentarz ewnagelicki w Reczu, obecnie stanowi rodzaj dzikiego, mało używanego parku / lasu porośniętego starodrzewiem. Jak większość tego typu miejsc na zachodnich terenach obecnej Polski cmentarz uległ zniszczeniu i zapomnieniu. Gdzieniegdzie między drzewami i krzewami widać jeszcze pozostałości grobowców. W końcówce lat osiemdziesiątych dwudziestego wieku lokalne władze komunistyczne próbowały zbudować na miejscu zniszczonego cmentarza park miejski. Szczęsliwie mieszkańcy nie zaakceptowali tego pomysłu.
Wiosną stary cmentarz jest doskonałym schronieniem dla dużej liczby ptaków śpiewających, na pobloiskich stawach spotkacie ptaki związane z wodą.

Recz is easily accessible by public transport (bus, train) or by car. The best way to get around is on foot. It is easy to find a parking space in the adjacent parking lot of the modern cemetery. Click on P for directions.

Recz has not been spared in the past. World War II almost wiped out the town. There are several interesting monuments left in the area - medieval stone city walls with towers, a church from the 14th century with a beautiful crucifix and an interesting baroque altar. The "Grądowe Zbocze" nature reserve is located nearby.
