Description
In summer, Frognerparken is a good spot for the resident, urban species, like Белая трясогузка , Зяблик , Черноголовый щегол and Черный дрозд. In addition, the ponds will hold various ducks and maybe also Камышница, Перевозчик and Горная трясогузка. Лебедь-шипун breeds here.
In winter, the ponds usually have open water, which is good for wintering ducks. Кряква are of course abundant, while Гоголь and Хохлатая чернеть are usual guests. Чирок-свистунок and Свиязь also regularly winter here. Always check for rarer species, especially in late fall and early spring. Серая цапля is also a common sight. Gulls also frequent the park during the winter months, due to people feeding the ducks. Wintering Озерная чайка and Сизая чайка can be found, as well as rarer species. Both Бургомистр and Полярная чайка have been reported from the park, and one Делавэрская чайка was found here in the spring of 2001.
Follow Frognerelva south west to Skøyen and look for Оляпка during winter.

Access
Frognerparken is easily accessible by bus, tram and subway. Majorstuen is the closest hub, a mere five minute walk away. If you exit to the south west towards Skøyen, you will find both train, tram and bus to take you back to Oslo. Driving is not recommended, as parking may be difficult and expensive.
