Beautiful area with a transition from dune area to a polder. The clean and calcareous water flows from the dunes into the Volgerland. That attracts many birds (and special plants like orchids). The area is important for meadow birds and everywhere you can see Чибис and singing Полевой жаворонок. Also Большой веретенник, Травник, Кулик-сорока and Жёлтая трясогузка. Колпица and Широконоска forage in the creek. In winter you can see Золотистая ржанка, Чернозобик, Щёголь, Большой улит and other waders in the Volgerland. And large groups of Чёрная казарка. In spring and early summmer Чибис fiercely defend their young against Европейская чёрная ворона flying overhead. Next to meadow birds in Volgerland you can see birds from reedbeds like Камышевка-барсучок and Усатая синица and birds from thickets like Зелёная пересмешка. The Volgerland is right next to the beach. At low tide you can see seals on the sandbanks off the coast. Moreover, in winter you can often see Краснозобая гагара, Длинноносый крохаль and various types of grebes without a telescope. And on the beach Песчанка.

Nederlands: Volgerland is een duingebied met kronkelende beek en weilanden. De wandeling die je hier kunt maken is een mooie combinatie van vogels kijken aan zee en het zien van rietvogels en weidevogels. Prachtig gebied met overgang van duingebied naar polder. Het schone en kalkhoudende water stroomt vanuit de duinen het Volgerland in. Dat trekt veel vogels (en bijzondere planten zoals orchideeën) aan. Het gebied is belangrijk voor weidevogels en overal zie je Чибис en zingende Полевой жаворонок. Ook Большой веретенник, Травник, Кулик-сорока en Жёлтая трясогузка. Колпица en Широконоска foerageren in de kreek. In de winter zie je Золотистая ржанка, Чернозобик, Щёголь, Большой улит en andere steltlopers in het Volgerland. En grote groepen Чёрная казарка en Белощекая казарка. In het voorjaar en de vroege zomer verdedigen Чибис hun jongen fel tegen Европейская чёрная ворона die boven hun hoofd vliegen. Naast weidevogels in Volgerland zie je rietvogels zoals Камышевка-барсучок en Усатая синица en struweelvogels zoals Зелёная пересмешка. Het Volgerland ligt pal naast het strand. Bij eb kun je zeehonden zien op de zandbanken voor de kust. Bovendien kun je hier in de winter vaak zonder telescoop Краснозобая гагара, Длинноносый крохаль en verschillende soorten futen zien. Access
The Volgerland is located on the northwest point of Goeree Overflakkee. You can park in the parking lot next to the lighthouse Westhoofd. From there a nice walk of 5 km runs through the Volgerland. The route is shown on the map and in the field marked with white arrows.

Nederlands: Het Volgerland ligt op de noordwestpunt van Goeree Overflakkee. Parkeren kan op het parkeerterrein naast de vuurtoren Westhoofd. Van daaruit loopt een mooie wandeling van 5 km door het Volgerland. De route wordt weergegeven op de kaart beneden. In het veld is de route gemarkeerd met witte pijlen.
