Landgoed Verwolde is a beautiful old estate with a forest, park, green fields, hedgerows, ancient oaks, rhododendrons and a beautifully preserved classicist nobleman's house from 1776. The garden and the forest are freely accessible. The rest of the estate is still privately owned. In the park forest you can enjoy walking and birding. The forest consists of oak and pine with an undergrowth of birch. The agricultural plots are surrounded by hedgerows with old pines. Breeding in the pine forests are Тетеревятник, Канюк, Чеглок, Хохлатая синица and Московка. After sunset, Ушастая сова and Серая неясыть can be heard. And in the park near the house you can find Обыкновенный поползень, Короткопалая пищуха, Зелёный дятел and Иволга. Other birds you can see are 5 species of woodpeckers, Ворон, Обыкновенный дубонос, Снегирь, Обыкновенная овсянка and Желтоголовый королёк.

Nederlands: Landgoed Verwolde is een mooi oud landgoed met bos, park, groene akkers, houtwallen, eeuwenoude eiken, rododendrons en een fraai bewaard classicistisch edelmanshuis uit 1776. De tuin en het bos zijn vrij toegankelijk. De rest van het landgoed is nog particulier bezit. In het parkbos kun je relaxed wandelen en vogels kijken. Het bos bestaat uit eiken en grove dennen met een ondergroei van berk. De landbouwpercelen worden omgeven door houtwallen met oude grove dennen. In de dennenbossen broeden Тетеревятник, Канюк, Чеглок, Хохлатая синица en Московка. Na zonsondergang zijn er Ушастая сова en Серая неясыть te horen. En in het park bij het huis kun je Обыкновенный поползень, Короткопалая пищуха, Зелёный дятел en Иволга ontdekken. Andere vogels die je op en rondom het landgoed kunt tegenkomen zijn Средний пёстрый дятел, Большой пёстрый дятел, Малый пёстрый дятел, Желна, Ворон, Обыкновенный дубонос, Снегирь, Обыкновенная овсянка en Желтоголовый королёк.

Parking is possible on the estate. Jonker Emilelaan 4 7245 TL Laren. Click on the P in the map for directions. The garden and the estate are freely accessible all year round. There are no fewer than 7 walking routes on the estate, including the well-known Pieterpad. So you can easily combine a walk on the estate with a longer walk or bike ride.
