Description
Ganzenhoek consists of forests on the one hand and open dunes on the other. The forest is a remnant of the large-scale planting of pines to keep the drifting sand in check. The intention is to gradually make way for native deciduous trees and shrubs. In the sheltered forests you can see squirrels and hear birds such as Большой пёстрый дятел, Зяблик, Желтоголовый королёк, Белобровик, Рябинник, Луговой конёк and Ополовник. The area has a large lake called the Ganzenhoekplas, with many waterfowl such as Лебедь-шипун, Малая поганка, Лысуха, Красноносый нырок, Хохлатая чернеть and Большой баклан. The area also houses several seepage lakes with associated flora and fauna. The area is grazed by large grazers such as Konik horses.

Nederlands: Ganzenhoek is een erg gevarieerd stuk duin, dat onderdeel is van Nationaal Park Hollands Duin. Ganzenhoek bestaat enerzijds uit bos en anderzijds uit open duin. Het bos is een restant van de grootscheepse aanplant van dennen om het stuivende zand in toom te houden. Echter deze dennen komen oorspronkelijk hier niet voor. De bedoeling is om ze geleidelijk plaats te laten maken voor inheemse loofbomen en struiken. In de beschutte bossen zie je eekhoorns en hoor je de roffel van de Большой пёстрый дятел of het gezang van zangvogels zoals Зяблик, Желтоголовый королёк, Белобровик, Рябинник, Луговой конёк en Ополовник. Het gebied heeft een grote plas genaamd de Ganzenhoekplas, met vele watervogels zoals Лебедь-шипун, Малая поганка, Лысуха, Красноносый нырок, Хохлатая чернеть en Большой баклан. Tevens herbergt het gebied diverse kwelplasjes voor een heel afwisselend landschap met bijbehorende flora en fauna. Het gebied wordt begraasd door grote grazers zoals Konikpaarden.
