Description
This reedbed, situated between Mosta and Naxxar, is a lesser known, yet rewarding birdwatching place, if you know when to go. There are a few birds present breeding such as Камышница, Соловьиная широкохвостка, Средиземноморская славка, Золотистая цистикола and Черногрудый воробей.
On migration you may find multiple species like Серая цапля, Кваква, Болотный лунь, Обыкновенная горлица and various passerines. If you're lucky maybe Малый погоныш, Рыжепоясничная ласточка, Бекас and Обыкновенный ремез.
In winter the pools are at their biggest and a variety of species can also be found such as Зарянка, Горная трясогузка, Луговой конёк, Зяблик and Лесная завирушка. For the full list of birds see the bird list below.

Take the road to leave Mosta down the hill and when the road makes a bend turn left. Keep driving down the hill until you see a small country road. Park your car on the opposite side of the road and walk down the trail to birdwatch. I suggest exploring the area by foot or with bicycle as the road is narrow and will be hard to drive through with car.
