The channel between the 2 main islands forms a migration bottleneck in early spring, especially for Чирок-трескунок and Белоглазый нырок , as well as Шилохвость, Средний кроншнеп, Большой веретенник and various other species. On good days several hundred birds can be seen of various species. The best days for duck migration usually correlate with the March full moon. Find somewhere to watch over the channel with a scope and hope for the best.
