Beautiful valley of the Belluno Dolomites National Park.
Among the noteworthy valleys of the Dolomiti Bellunesi National Park, the Val Canzoi is distinguished by the quality of its natural habitats: woodlands, meadows, riverbeds and karstic springs. The val Canzoi starts just outside Cesiomaggiore as a wide verdant valley among meadows and small patches of cultivated land, but then it soon enters a deep narrow canyon among vertical rock faces. All these various environments and various paths both along the lake and the stream and in the woods and at high altitude, make it possible to see a great diversity of birds. The most representative fauna habitats to be observed along the Val Canzoi Nature Trail are its broad-leaved forests, Pine forests, meadows and agricultural areas, wetlands, riverbeds, small marshes and rock formations. The broad-leaved forests are home to many species of passerine birds, Roe-deer and – with a stroke of luck – one can even run into a chamois (Rupicapra rupicapra). Both Roe-deer (Capreolus capreolus) and Mouflon (Ovis orientalis) can be spotted in the meadows at springtime. The most common birds of the Caorame stream are Горная трясогузка and Оляпка.
