Description

Area Naturale La Querciola protects a small portion of about 118 hectares of the Pistoia-Prato-Florence plain. It is characterized by a traditional agricultural landscape with small fields, bordered by rows of vines or tree-lined hedges, meadows-pastures and cereal arable land. The flooding basin attracts many birds and is very popular with passerines, ducks and birds of prey. There are 3 bird hides in a row that overlook the flooding basin. Among the birds you can see in the area are Змееяд, Рыжая цапля, Кваква, Обыкновенный зимородок, Малая поганка, Ходулочник, Чирок-трескунок, Золотистая цистикола, Обыкновенная кукушка and Горная трясогузка.
