If you're in the area, the Almyropotamos river is a nice spot to scan for migrating herons, crakes and waders.
Just east of the Polichnitos saltpans, the Almyropotamos river is located and runs towards the Gulf of Kalloni. You can search the river for migrating herons, egrets, storks, crakes and waders, like Малый погоныш, Чёрный аист and Белохвостый песочник. The surrounding fields are good for flocks of wagtails, pipits and larks, like Полевой конёк, and the fences in the area are worth a check for chats and shrikes.
You can park your car next to the river crossing, or drive with your vehicle towards the sea along the path.
