Description
The Weingartener Moor is an interesting place to visit and can host a good variety of bird species. The varying levels of water throughout the year adds a certain dynamic and an element of surprise. When there are open areas of water, there are good numbers of geese and ducks present. Серый гусь, Канадская казарка, Кряква, Серая утка, Красноголовый нырок, Хохлатая чернеть, Чирок-свистунок, Лысуха and Малая поганка are all regularly seen here.
Receding water levels and muddy fringes can attract birds such as Бекас and Черныш. In August 2023, a juvenile Камнешарка was even observed here! The surrounding woodland is home to a good number of species and is a good place to look for Деряба, Средний пёстрый дятел and Малый пёстрый дятел. If you are lucky, you may see a Чеглок hunting dragonflies in summer.
