Description
The heathland of the Wahner Heide is one of the largest nature reserves in North Rhine-Westphalia and has a great biodiversity. The area has marshes, ponds and dunes, wet and dry meadows, streams and riparian forests. You can find many different bird species and make beautiful walks. Among the birds you can see are Обыкновенный дубонос, Снегирь, Обыкновенный жулан, Обыкновенная овсянка, Желна, Средний пёстрый дятел, Обыкновенный осоед, Красный коршун, Лесной жаворонок, Лесной конёк and Черноголовый чекан. It is a big area and there are many places where you can start a walk and many trails you can choose from. With the links below you can download different walking trails. You could also first visit the visitor center on the Flughafenstr. 16 in Troisdorf. Or make the circular walk of 6 km indicated on the map below, that starts at the visitor center. Click on the P in the map to get directions to the nearest parking place.
