With multiple lakes, vast reedlands and wet meadows with multiple lookout towers and one larger observation tower Strengsee/Rietzersee is a reliable site for various sorts of reed- and waterbirds such as Шилохвость , Широконоска , Свиязь , Серая утка . Also Варакушка , Усатая синица, Обыкновенный ремез are possible.
In autumn and winter it is an important site for geese, Серый журавль, grebes and ducks. The large flocks of geese sometimes attract Орлан-белохвост . Other birds of prey include harriers, kites and buzzards.

Access
The observation tower can best be reached via Netzen. Follow the signs "Beobachtungsturm" there is a parking area very close to the tower. From there walk to the tower which provides a nice view over the lake, and then follow the canal which goes to Rietzer See.
