Description
The Salmenwiesen meadows are easily accessible and offer a good mix of birds all year round, especially at times when there is water on the meadows and in the ditches. When the meadows are flooded, a good number of birds use the meadows as a place to feed and rest. Серый гусь, Канадская казарка, Серая цапля, Камышница, Кряква and Европейская чёрная ворона are nearly always present. At times they are joined by Белый аист, Огарь and Чирок-свистунок.
During spring migration it is possible to see pairs or small groups of Черноголовый чекан and Жёлтая трясогузка. If you are lucky, you may see Бекас , Обыкновенный сверчок or even a rarity such as a Египетская цапля! During spring and summer there is a good chance of observing Серая славка, Обыкновенный жулан and Деревенская ласточка. Birds of prey can also frequently be observed soaring over the meadows.
In winter, Луговой конёк and Белая трясогузка are usually present and can be heard and seen foraging on the meadows and in the reeds.
