The shallow water ponds of nature reserve Rieselfelder Nottuln-Appelhülsen are of particular importance as moulting, resting and breeding places for waders and waterfowl. It is also a habitat that is particularly valuable for endangered plant and animal species. Among the birds you can encounter in the area are Тростниковая овсянка, Белолобый гусь, Белощекая казарка, Чирок-свистунок. The nature reserve is located directly to the south of the village of Appelhülsen. It can be reached by bicycle and car. Parking nearby. Click on the P in the map for directions. From the parking it is a short walk to the bird hide.
