Description
The Langwieser See is a small lake. The lake itself isn't very good for birding, but sometimes you can spot Обыкновенный зимородок there. In the reed area about 100 meters east of the lake, in winter you can see for example Тростниковая овсянка and sometimes also Водяной пастушок. In summer it's full of Тростниковая камышевка. West to the lake, there are nice water reservoirs, which in winter often contain Гаршнеп (best to spot with a thermal imaging camera), and sometimes Бекас.
South to the reservoirs, there is a smal bush land with Обыкновенная овсянка, Черноголовый щегол and in winter often Юрок. In the gardens and trees along the small stream you can find Чиж in winter and Обыкновенная горихвостка and Серая славка in summer. Sometimes you can also hear a Южный соловей here.
Very good are the fields around the whole area. During migration you can see Луговой конёк, Болотная камышевка, Черноголовый чекан (sometimes also staying over winter), Тетеревятник, Каменка, Жёлтая трясогузка, Славка-мельничек and rarely Вертишейка, Чибис and Полевой лунь. All year round you will find Коноплянка, Полевой жаворонок, Серая цапля and Пустельга обыкновенная. Sometimes you can also see Серая куропатка, Перепелятник or Сапсан.
