Description
Open ponds with reed fringes, mudflats and some islands for breeding birds. Apart from a variety of waders and waterfowl the area is quite good for raptors, e.g. Сапсан and Орлан-белохвост.
Typical breeding birds: Травник, Шилоклювка, Речная крачка, Варакушка, Камышевка-барсучок, Водяной пастушок.
Migration: Any kind of wader, terns, ducks
Winter: Луток and many other duck species, many geese (particularly Белощекая казарка and Белолобый гусь), divers, Золотистая ржанка.
Despite being created only recently the area already held a few national rarities: Красавка (2014), breeding Ходулочник (2014), Ходулочниковый песочник (2019).

Access
The site can be accessed easily via Ölstraße from Diekmannshausen (2 km), either by car or by bicycle. No public transport available.
