Description
The Hauke-Haie-Koog is an important resting and moulting area for many bird species in the Wadden Sea. Every year in spring and autumn when migrating, thousands of geese come to the Hauke-Haien-Koog to rest and moult. Large flocks of Чернозобик also use this area as a high water resting place. Шилоклювка, terns, and various songbird species such as Тростниковая овсянка, Усатая синица and Камышевка-барсучок use the Koog with its wide reed areas as a breeding area. The observation hide can be reached directly by car because a parking lot is right next to it. You can also make a stop here by bike along the coastal cycle path.
