Eriskircher Ried is an area where many water birds (e.g. diving ducks and swans) overwinter. Also an important breeding area. Several platforms for bird watching are available. Among the birds you can see are Огарь, Американский лебедь, Лебедь-кликун, Обыкновенный зимородок, Морская чернеть, Красноносый нырок, Гоголь, Чирок-трескунок, Чирок-свистунок, Широконоска, Черношейная поганка, Чернозобая гагара, Краснозобая гагара, Большой кроншнеп, Малый зуёк, Фифи, Большой улит, Травник, Турухтан, Кваква, Чёрная крачка, Белощекая крачка, Седой дятел, Красный коршун, Болотный лунь and Скопа.
Good spots to observe birds are: 1) the platform next to Strandbad, 2) the mouth of Schussen 3) the platform in the middle of the area, 4) platform at north end of the area.
