The Altes Feld (Old Field) near Dainrode was the largest Hessian resting place for Чибис in the 1970s with daily maximums (resting population) of around 14,000. Up to 600 Золотистая ржанка. Rare Хрустан. Large numbers of raptors, sometimes over 50 Красный коршун and 100 Канюк. The Зимняк is an occasional migrant and winter guest. In the cold winter of 86/87 up to 20 individuals. Полевой лунь, Болотный лунь, Дербник and Пуночка regularly. Sometimes Серый журавль rest, often thousands of them migrating. Maximum numbers: Полевой жаворонок 10,000, Рябинник 10,000, Белобровик 6,000, Обыкновенный скворец 200,000, Луговой конёк 2,000.

Altes Feld located near the village of Dainrode. The area is crossed by the B 253 and is very easy to reach. Driving on dirt roads is forbidden, but is probably never checked.
