Description
At the river Ahr are breeding Малый зуёк and Обыкновенный зимородок. In the floodplains are meadows, forests and a little reedbed. In the meadows are breeding Домовый сыч (10 territories in 2020). Обыкновенный жулан and Обыкновенный сверчок are possible breeding birds. In the forests are breeding Южный соловей , Иволга and Средний пёстрый дятел. You can also see Чёрный коршун and Чеглок during breeding time. In the little reedbed are Тростниковая камышевка and Болотная камышевка (also common next to the Ahr). Многоголосая камышевка and Зелёная пересмешка can also be found in the area.
During migration, you can see migratory birds like Скопа and Черныш. In winter you can see some wintering birds like Оляпка.

Access
There is a train station in Linz (direct connections to Cologne and Koblenz), from where you have to cross the Rhine with the ferry to Kripp. Another train station is in Sinzig (direct connections to Bonn and Koblenz) from where you can go directly to the meadows at the southern edge of the area.
You can park in Kripp (follow the B9 until Kripp). The walking route you see on the map is about 7 km.
