Very interesting lake for water birds, especially winter visitors (but not only!).
Created in 1977, the Val d'Auron lake, has an area of 73 ha and is used for angling, sailing, rowing and kayaking. But there is also space for birds. The lake is protected by law because of its ecological interest. The island on the lake has become a resting place for many species of migratory birds, ducks, geese and swans. In partnership with the League for the Protection of Birds (BirdLife France), the city of Bourges registered this site as a refuge. The lake is especially good for winter visitors.

Plenty of places to park around the lake. Best birdwatching area is the south western part of the lake. But you can also make a circular walk (6, 3 km) around the entire lake.
