Description
Neuvry is a very good spot for waterbirds, and also for local rarities. Черноголовая чайка and Озерная чайка breed in small numbers, as do Красноносый нырок , Хохлатая чернеть and Черношейная поганка. Египетская цапля, Большая белая цапля and Малая белая цапля are all regular. Waders are quite common in stopover, especially Tringa sandpipers. Гаршнеп winters in the area.
Малая чайка , Белощекая крачка, Чёрная крачка and Скопа are regular. This also a good place for ducks in migration period. Among the recent rarities are Поручейник , Жёлтая цапля , Морянка , Серощекая поганка , Белохвостый песочник and Полярная крачка.

Access
The gravel pit is located directly north of the village of Neuvry. By car only (no train station around). You can go first to the western bird hide, and then walk along the eastern shore of the lake on the dirt road. Be careful, driving is forbidden on the dirt road around the lake, you're in a Natural Reserve, you may be fined. The circular walking route is about 4,5 km.
