Description

West Point Island was originally known as Albatross Island and is located in the north-west corner of the Falklands archipelago. It is 6 km long with a maximum width of 4 km and boasts some of the most spectacular coastal scenery in the Falklands. West Point Island has a large Black-browed Albatross colony as well as Southern Rockhopper Penguin with fairly high cliffs. Turkey Vulture can be seen around the trees and shrubs as well as around the settlements.
