Crocodile Island is located in the river Nile. The reedbeds and wetlands line the shore on both sides of the bridge to the mainland. Look for Малая белая цапля, Египетская цапля, Рыжая цапля, Султанка, Чеглок, Степная пустельга, Болотный лунь, Малый пегий зимородок, Скопа, Чернокрылый дымчатый коршун, wintering dabbling ducks and waders.
The hotel gardens are a refuge for smaller birds and migrants such as Золотистая щурка, Малая зелёная щурка, Иволга, Сплюшка, Удод, Обыкновенная горлица, Обыкновенный козодой, Вертишейка, Обыкновенный жулан and various warblers.

Access
Luxor is a popular tourist destination with its own airport. Trains from Cairo take about 10 hours. Crocodile Island is located in the river Nile just south of Luxor. From the city centre there are plentiful buses and taxis.
