Description
There have been recorded more than 250 birds species. It is a nesting site of the in Silesia rare Усатая синица and there are nesting some other rare birds like Волчок , Варакушка and Обыкновенная чечевица. It is also a popular bird stop during migration time. In Spring you can see there for example Каменка , Соловьиный сверчок , Черноголовая чайка , Скопа and sometimes even Вертлявая камышевка and Тонкоклювая камышевка.
During the Autumn migration you can see many species of waders like Чернозобик , Турухтан , Кулик-воробей , Краснозобик , Щёголь , Фифи and some other. Also you can observe Погоныш or Водяной пастушок.
In Winter it is an ideal place for watching Усатая синица and if you are lucky you can see wintering Большая выпь or Горная чечётка .
Various bird rarities were also recorded here: Круглоносый плавунчик , Камнешарка , Мородунка , Большой веретенник , Исландский песочник , Черноголовый хохотун , Пестроносая крачка , Полярная крачка , Рыжепоясничная ласточка , Степной лунь , Вилохвостая чайка , Вертлявая камышевка , Тонкоклювая камышевка and many others.

The location is inaccessible by car, so it is best to park somewhere in Ostrava and walk to the location or go by bus. I recommend a walk along the western side of the pond. You can make a circle around, but if you want to see some reed birds, it is best to wait near the reeds or go on one of the fishing bridges (but be careful, it can be dangerous).
