Description
On the the Solana Nin saltworks, you will find a small ornithological reserve. On these diverse fields around Solana Nin more than 280 species of birds have been spotted. Many migratory birds take a break here along the salt pans on their long-haul flights to their wintering grounds in Africa and further in the Mediterranean. But the salt pans also hold a good number of breeding birds like Ходулочник, Морской зуёк and Малая белая цапля. Other birds that can be observed are Малая крачка, Кулик-сорока, Авдотка, Тулес, Травник, Большой улит, Большой кроншнеп, Большой веретенник, Краснозобик, Кулик-воробей, Чернозобик, Пеганка, Щёголь, Малый зуёк, Галстучник and Шилоклювка. In winter and early spring in the reedy pools on the east side of the salt pans (see map) sometimes Тонкоклювая камышевка is observed.
