Goritsa Forest is a place with easy access and is a nice woodland on a almost flat terrain, where Полуошейниковая мухоловка breeds. Presence of standing and fallen dead wood provides excellent conditions for Средний пёстрый дятел, Малый пёстрый дятел, Большой пёстрый дятел, Седой дятел, Зелёный дятел and Желна, but also Пеночка-трещотка, Обыкновенная горихвостка and Лесной конёк. The site is situated on the migratory flyway of storks, pelicans and birds of prey which can be observed from some of the open areas around.
