Shallow lagoon on the eastern outskirts of the city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra.
Laguna Guapilo is a shallow lagoon that attracts many birds. The west bank of the lagoon has a long sidewalk and a central platform that runs 60 meters into the lagoon. From there you have a good view to different sides of the lagoon. Among the birds that can be observed here are Southern Screamer, White-winged Coot, Purple Gallinule, Black-bellied Whistling-Duck, Fulvous Whistling Duck, Brazilian Teal, White-cheeked Pintail, Limpkin, Wattled Jacana, Maguari Stork, Wood Stork, Cocoi Heron, Bare-faced Ibis, Roseate Spoonbill and many more, see the birdlist below.
Laguna Guapilo is located on the eastern outskirts of the city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra. Check out the central viewing platform, but als check the small pedestrian bridge on the northern end of the sidewalk.
