The Engeland Plateau is an area of interest because you can see many species of forest or semi-forest birds; such as the Снегирь, Обыкновенный дубонос, Зяблик, Юрок (in winter), Чиж (in winter too), , Обыкновенный поползень, Желтоголовый королёк and Красноголовый королёк, Белобровик, Певчий дрозд, Деряба ; some woodpecker species such as Большой пёстрый дятел, Зелёный дятел or Средний пёстрый дятел; and all the tit species present in Brussels (!): Лазоревка, Хохлатая синица, Большая синица, Ополовник, Московка and Черноголовая гаичка.

You can reach the site by bus with line 37 or 43. Bus stop Marentak, Pasteur, Verrewinkel. Often enough parking spaces nearby. Click on the P on the map for directions. The 2 main entrances are on Avenue Dolez and Chemin du Puits.

The Канюк is seen very frequently, as well as the Зелёный дятел, the Большой пёстрый дятел, the Черноголовая гаичка and the Деряба (less easy to see this one). In winter the Чиж is very present on the set and we know to see them often, while the Юрок is more discreet but is still present. In summer we can see the Теньковка; occasionally the Пеночка-весничка, and the Славка-черноголовка is heard.
When it comes to birds of prey, the most common are: the Канюк and the Перепелятник, while the Пустельга обыкновенная can be seen less frequently (the Тетеревятник is quite rare but in flight with luck we can see it). Note that in summer it is possible to see the Обыкновенный осоед passing overhead.
Near the western entrance is a small pond where you can see the Кряква, the Камышница, the Серая цапля and even the Обыкновенный зимородок!

Français: La Канюк s'observe très fréquemment, ainsi que le Зелёный дятел, le Большой пёстрый дятел la Черноголовая гаичка et la Деряба (moins facile a voir celle là). En hiver le Чиж est bien présent sur le plateau et on sait en voir souvent, tandis que le Юрок se fait plus discret mais est quand même présent. En été on sait voir le Теньковка; occasionellement le Пеночка-весничка, et la Славка-черноголовка se fait entendre.
Quand au rapaces, les plus fréquents sont: la Канюк et l' Перепелятник , tandis que on peut voir moins fréquement le Пустельга обыкновенная ( l' Тетеревятник est assez rare mais en vol avec de la chance on sait le voir). A noter que en été c'est possible de voir passer au dessus de soi la Обыкновенный осоед.
Près de l'entrée ouest un petite mare dans un creux est visible, ou l'on peut voir le Кряква, la Камышница, le Серая цапля et même le Обыкновенный зимородок !
