Plateau du Gerny is an area of open fields surrounded by bushes. Красный коршун and Чёрный коршун are frequent. Annual observations of Хрустан, Луговой лунь, Полевой конёк and sometimes Серый журавль on the ground. Rare visiors that have been observed in the area are Степной конёк, Краснозобый конёк, Белошапочная овсянка, Садовая овсянка, Пуночка, Удод, Зимняк, Степной лунь, Орёл-карлик, Чернокрылый дымчатый коршун and Кобчик.

You can visit the main part of Plateau du Gerny by car but the eastern part is forbidden for cars. The circular route indicated on the map is about 8 km.
