Description
Gravière d'Hermalle is a former industrial area (gravel extraction) along the Albert Canal. The area was fully developed and dedicated to nature in 2012. The large body of water attracts many birds. There is a circular path around this small lake that allows everyone to explore the area, including people with reduced mobility. Among the birds you can see in the area are Малая поганка, Чомга, Хохлатая чернеть, Красноголовый нырок, Серая утка, Большой баклан, Тростниковая овсянка and Обыкновенный зимородок.

Français: Cette ancienne zone industrielle (extraction de gravier) a été entièrement aménagée et dédiée à la balade en pleine nature en 2012. Lieu de grand intérêt biologique, avec son grand plan d'eau qui fait la joie des oiseaux pour l'hivernage, ainsi que des amphibiens pour leur reproduction. Un cheminement circulaire autour de ce petit lac permet à tous, y compris aux personnes à mobilité réduite, de profiter du paysage.

Parking at the entrance to the site. Follow the signs for "Gravière Brocq" or click on the P in the map to get directions. The circular route around the lake is about 1,7 km long.
