The area around the Wibau gravel ponds near Marchtrenk is one of the ornithological hotspots in central Upper Austria. Expected breeding bird species include Большой кроншнеп, Чибис, Серая куропатка, Обыкновенный жулан and Славка-черноголовка. With a little luck, one or the other rare, migratory species can also be observed.
