West Cooroy State Forest is an important part of the Noosa Shire’s Biosphere and in relatively pristine state. Nice forest area for birding along well-maintained paths that wind through sclerophyll and rainforest habitats. Among the birds you can encounter are Wonga Pigeon, Sahul Cicadabird, Rose-crowned Fruit-Dove, Spectacled Monarch, Wompoo Fruit-Dove, Paradise Riflebird, Rufous Fantail, Scarlet Honeyeater, Bell Miner and Green Catbird.
West Cooroy State Forest is 11 km from Cooroy Hotel. Travel 6 km along Belli Ck. Road, turn left onto Old Ceylon Road. Travel 1 km then turn right onto Top Forestry Road. The site is 1 km past State Forestry sign both on right. Click on the P in the map for coordinates or directions.
