Description

On the road from Kununurra to Wyndham is The Grotto, a deep gorge that can be reached by 140 steps (with no handrail), with a swimming hole and Wet Season waterfall. The Grotto is a magnificent gorge that provides a picturesque and safe swimming spot. The 120 metre cliff face drops into the water, becoming a spectacular waterfall during the wet season.

There is a good chance of White-quilled Rock-Pigeon, Spinifex Pigeon and Sandstone Shrikethrush. Black-breasted Buzzard is also a chance in the general area.

The Grotto is located south of Wyndham. Accessed via Grotto Road, off the Kununurra-Wyndham Road. Press P on the map to access Google mapping.
