A good path through local vegetation leads to a boardwalk close to wetlands with two bird hides for closer viewing.
Dry temperate forest and wetlands provides a variety of birdlife to view. The two bird hides at Swan Lake allow great viewing of the wetlands area. Raptors can also be seen overhead. Among the birds you can observe are Black Swan, Australian Shelduck, Australian Shoveler, Maned Duck, Cape Barren Goose, Brown Thornbill, Superb Fairywren and Musk Duck.
Swan Lake is situated on the western tip of Phillip Island. Dedicated parking off the main road. Click on the P in the map for directions. No access from sunset to sunrise. Walking access only. Is accessible for wheelchairs and prams.
