Description

Nickol Bay has a diversity of landscapes. The mangroves, dunes, sea and open areas attract different species of birds. There are two observatories accessible on foot on the dunes. Among the birds you can observe in the area are Caspian Tern, Osprey, Whimbrel, Common Greenshank, Australian Tern, Greater Crested Tern, Pied Stilt, Pied Oystercatcher, Grey-tailed Tattler, Red-capped Plover and many more. Access

Nickol Bay is between the Burrup Peninsula and Dixon Island, on the Pilbara coast in Western Australia. Click on the P in the map for directions or coordinates. The site can be visited by car and there are two observatories accessible on foot on the dunes.
