Description
The artificial lakes are located in the center of Vanadzor at the confluence of the Vanadzor and Tandzut rivers. The lower lake is filled with water year-round, the middle one is a marshy area with thickets of shrubs and reeds. The upper "lake" has not been filled with water for a long time and now represents a field area. This combination of landscapes attracts birds, and throughout the year, you can spot Оляпка and Горная трясогузка, some of the first insectivorous birds to appear in spring. The open space also allows for observing raptors in the sky – it is common to see buzzards, kites, harriers, and other raptors, such as Бородач.
