Description

Wrabness has many varied habitats. The woods have nesting Turturică and Privighetoare roșcată, also many spring flowers especially bluebells. The wildflower meadows have Presură sură and Mărăcinar negru. In autumn and winter the marshy areas attract Ciocîntors, Fugaci mare, Pietruș, Lopătar, egrets, and on the estuary, scoters, divers, Ferestraș moțat, Rață fluierătoare and Rață sunătoare.

Access

From Colchester take A12 east for 15 miles then left on minor road and right at crossroads, the RSPB reserve car park is half mile ahead on the left. Nearest rail station at Wrabness, half mile from the reserve. EWT reserve also has car parking. 2.1 metre height barrier. Click on a P in the map to get directions to a parking. Buses between Manningtree and Harwich go past the RSPB reserve.
