RSPB reserve to the south east of RAF Valley with river, lakes, reedbeds, heath and gorse. The site has breeding Buhai de baltă.
Valley Wetlands RSPB Reserve has Buhai de baltă that can be heard booming and occasionally flying over the reedbeds. There is a Lăstun de mal colony on the river Crigyll, plus Presură de stuf, Lăcar de stuf, Lăcar mic, Grelușel pătat, Mărăcinar negru and Ciocârlie. In winter Rață lingurar, Rață fluierătoare, Rață mică and Rață sulițar. Best to visit before 8.30 am as the jets from the aerodrome are noisy later on. There are otters, dragonflies and pyramid orchids.
Valley Wetlands has a car park on site. The reserve is in the NW corner of Anglesey and accessible by bus or car, see link below. There is also a train station at Rhosneigr.
