Description

The Otter River is an idyllic river with a good population of Pescăraș albastru and Pescărel negru. Also with wading birds in the lower reaches. From the villages of Otterton and Budleigh Salterton you can make a beautiful 5 km circular walk along the river. The river is also famous for its reintroduced beavers which can been seen in Spring and Summer and a sizeable population of otters.

Access

Access points include Otterton, Budleigh Salterton (paid car park), Ottery StMary and Tipton St John. Parking is most on the street in each of these villages. You can combine this walk with a visit to the Otter estuary (described as a separate area on Birdingplaces).
