Description
Fingringhoe Wick Nature Reserve is a hidden gem. There's a wide variety of habitats and views over the tidal river, all of which should make this a site for all seasons. It's a Site of Special Scientific Interest. Known locally for Privighetoare roșcată.

Access
An infrequent bus service (175) connects central Colchesterto Fingringhoe village, about a mile from the reserve perimeter and 1.5 miles from the reserve information centre. The nearest train station is Colchester Town, on the 175 bus route. Otherwise, there is a free carpark. Postcode is CO5 7DN. On site, access is on foot, no cycling, with wheelchair access to much of the reserve.

The reserve centre has shop, toilets and cafe. The best place & time to view waterbirds is from the Margaret Hide (the furthest upstream), from 2 hours before high tide (see the link to the tides table below).
