Description
Krummi is one of the many interesting birding spots in the Grosses Moos Important Bird Area (IBA). The Grosses Moos wetland was drained giving way to a rich structured agricultural and cultural landscape. The fields are on a major migratory passageway and attract a great number of bird species especially in Autumn and Spring. Krümmi consists of a small wetland and extensively managed meadow and is surrounded by hedges and treelines that offer structure to the landscape. These landscape elements are the refuge for some farmland species that are now rare in Switzerland, such as the Presură sură. It also offers refuge to less rare but vulnerable species such as Sfrâncioc roșiatic , Privighetoare roșcată , Presură galbenă and Silvie de câmp. The small wetland is the breeding ground for Pescăraș albastru , Lăcar de stuf , Lăcar mare. On passage Becațină comună , Fluierar de mlaștină , Fluierar cu picioare verzi , Fluierar de munte , and Bătăuș make a stopover. Rarer waders such as Fugaci pitic can also be expected.
The entire farmland area around Krümmi is worth exploring and regulary produces scarce surprises, including: Vânturel de seară , Prigorie , Erete sur , Prundăraș de munte. In the recent years the area has produced some raritioes including: Gaie cenușie , Pasărea ogorului , Pitulice cu sprânceană galbenă.
