Description
Sjötorpasjön is a good place to see wetland birds during much of the year. The surroundings (deciduous forests and farmland) are also interesting. Among the breeders are Corcodel mare, Lebădă de vară, Erete de stuf and in some years Buhai de baltă,Corcodel cu gât roșu and Pițigoi de stuf. Other breeders in the neighbourhood are Gaie roșie , Ciocănitoare pestriță mică, Pițigoi codat and Frunzăriță galbenă. During migration periods large flocks of Gâscă de vară , Gâscă canadiană , Rață mare and Rață mică stay at the lake, often including the odd duck or goose species.
From the birding tower you may see several raptors, especially Șorecar comun, Șorecar încălțat, Gaie roșie, Gaie neagră, Uligan pescar and Codalb.
