Although not as popular, the northern side of Öland also hosts a variety of noteworthy birdingplaces like this marsh.
Petgärde Träsk is a pleasant marshy area with an abundance of birds that are easily seen from the watchtower. Birds that you can find here include Rață cârâitoare, Rață pestriță, Cuc, Cresteț pestriț, Cârstel de baltă and Lăstun de casă to mention a few.
Petgärde Träsk is accesible from the main Öland road 136 by several exits. The shortest route is when driving 15 kilometers past Borgholm and turning right towards Stacketorp. At the end of the road you take another right towards Norra Möckleby. Shortly after you turn you can see the parking spot located along the road on the left side in your direction. Click on the P in the map for directions to the parking.
