Description

Mjölkuddstjärnen is best for bird watching in early May, during the spring migration. Then you have the chance to see and hear many species up close. Even during the summer, Mjölkuddstjärn is frequently visited by seabirds such as various gulls and ducks. In early autumn, migratory birds gather here such as geese and swans. Flocks of Mătăsar gather to eat berries in the bushes around the ponds in late autumn and in winter small birds such Mugurar are seen. Other species that are also common at the ponds are Fluierar de munte, Presură de stuf, Ferestraș mare, Corcodel mare, Pescăruș râzător, Lișiță, Rață cu cap castaniu, Rață fluierătoare, Culic mare and Rață sunătoare. Sometimes rarer bird species such as Corcodel cu gât roșu, Rață lingurar and Pescăruș mic are also seen here.
